there are a few things i know i need to pick up before my husband and i leave for our marvelous trip to japan ~
...i just feel like i'm forgetting something...
i need a new bathing suit. the one i have is embarssingly too small!
i also really want a gorilla tripod... thingy. very handy.
we just bought a new sony handycam. quite excited about that~
and the most important thing is to get...
JR pass exchange order from the JTB International (Canada) Ltd. Toronto Office
(in order to obtain the JR pass, you need to get an exchange order in your own country. then when you arrive in japan (@ airport customs), turn it in and show your passport with a "temporary visitor" stamp... and fill out a form... and voila~
see http://japanrailpass.net/eng/en001.html)
we've also bought a few 2010 vancouver olympic mascot plush keychains as omiyage.
(if you want some ~ http://www.vancouver2010.com/store/accessories/keychains/cataccessories-catkeyringslanyards-p1.html)
(fyi ~ when staying in japan, it is customary to bring a small gift from your country for your hosts. the only person i can think of that we may encounter that we may give omiyage to would be the owner of the ryokan...)
hmmm... what else? i need to exchange my money into yen ~ from what i hear, most japanese people use cash and some places will only take cash.
anything you can think of that i will need to bring on my trip?
